£50,000 per week Chelsea star won’t sign new contract after losing starting spot. He played a key role when Chelsea won the Champions League

After losing his starting job to Kepa Arrizabalaga, Chelsea star Edouard Mendy is “nowhere near” signing a new contract with the team, according to The Times via Metro.

After an almost three-month absence, Mendy hasn’t appeared in a single game for Chelsea in 2023 and has only lately started training with the first squad.

Due to Mendy’s injury, Kepa has taken over as the team’s starting goalkeeper, and the Spaniard has excelled in Mendy’s absence.

After losing his starting berth to Kepa, Mendy has two years left on his current Chelsea deal and has no intention of extending it.
