Abramovich would have sacked Potter THREE times already – Tony Cascarino Says

Tony Cascarino, a former Chelsea striker, said that previous Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich would have fired Graham Potter as manager of the team three times already.

After taking over for Thomas Tuchel in September, Potter has had difficulty enhancing Chelsea, who are now tenth in the Premier League.

He said in his column for The Times that Graham Potter would have already been fired three times if Roman Abramovich were still the owner of Chelsea.

“His side played appallingly in the first half of the 1-0 home loss to Southampton, and losing to the Premier League’s worst team is just inexcusable.

Even if Todd Boehly’s ownership group is now in charge of Chelsea, I do not think Potter will be given much more time.

“Since last summer, the club has spent more than £500 million on some of the greatest players available.

“Their roster is so deep that occasionally when I am at Stamford Bridge for a game, I run across players who aren’t in the matchday squad but who would easily start for most clubs in the nation.

Why would Boehly be satisfied to endure mediocrity under Potter when he is obviously eager to get Chelsea back in the championship race?

Getting rid of the head coach this week would not surprise me.
