Liverpool legend gives bias prediction for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final clash with Liverpool

Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness has revealed where his heart lies in terms of what the outcome of Chelsea’s upcoming Carabao Cup final with Liverpool will be.

The Blues are in desperate need of a trophy, having not won one since 2022.

The League Cup final also presents an opportunity for Mauricio Pochettino to buy himself more time as Chelsea boss, and perhaps finally win his first trophy as a football coach in England.

The last time Chelsea faced Liverpool in a final, the Blues narrowly lost it, and they will be eager to avoid a repeat of the same this time.

The Reds, like Chelsea, will be without some of their key players for the Sunday afternoon match up, while the Londoners will feel motivated, following their 1-1 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend.

However, Souness is still backing his former club to win it, even though he admits it won’t be an easy game for them.

Asked if Pochettino could win silverware this weekend, Souness told talkSPORT: “No. What do you expect me to say? I’m a Liverpool supporter.

“It’s not a done deal. Of course, they have a chance. For me, it’s a 60/40 game. I think Liverpool will win.

“That’s even without the boys who went off injured. That’s my one concern for Liverpool.

“They’ve got an abundance of strikers and even guys that change games when they’re not playing well.”

Chelsea lost to Liverpool via penalty shootout when both sides last met in the Carabao Cup final two years ago.
