Arsenal face Manchester United at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. It will be a chance to see how the Gunners might fair against Premier League opposition.
United have added some upgrades to their squad in the form of Mason Mount and Andre Onana. The Gunners have had a decent record against their EPL opponents with their most recent clash ending in a 3-2 win at the Emirates.
United won at Old Trafford in controversial fashion. Gabriel Martinelli’s opening goal was wrongfully ruled out by VAR.
The rivalry is sure to spark quite the clash even though it is just a friendly. United have won their two preseason games with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United followed by a 1-0 win over Lyon in which Donny van de Beek scored.
Arsenal could see both Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice start for the first time. The Gunners’ last outing was in a 5-0 rout against the MLS All-Stars with Kai Havertz getting on the scoresheet for the first time after plenty of criticism.
Another goal for the German international tonight would really put to bed the noise for now.
