Ronaldo, who has never shied away from the spotlight, made news again with a choice that effectively ended his Manchester United career.
Chelsea was destined to be mentioned as one of his potential new teams after expressing interest in signing him the previous summer, a move that appeared to be motivated by ambitious new owner Todd Boehly.
But any new action was quickly curbed. At least until today, when it was reported by The Daily Mirror that Chelsea had changed their mind about Ronaldo and were now “ready to step in” if Manchester United went through with their plan to fire him.
