BREAKING: Mаn United move closer to decision on £75,000-per-week Star

Although Mason Greenwood hasn’t played for Manchester United in 16 months, a decision over his future is moving closer to being made.

Since January 2022, Mason Greenwood has not played for United.

The internal investigation into Mason Greenwood’s behavior at Manchester United is nearing its conclusion, and a decision regarding the forward’s future may be made in the coming weeks.

The 21-year-old hasn’t played for the club since January 2022, when allegations regarding his private life surfaced on social media and he was suspended by United.

In October 2022, Greenwood was plagued by attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault including actual bodily harm.

In February, the Crown Prosecution Service filed those charges against Greenwood, at which point the club launched its own internal investigation to gain a “more thorough understanding” of the allegations.

Greenwood was still suspended during that process, and United’s next steps will depend on the results of the investigation.

Even though there was no deadline set for the investigation, it was unlikely to be finished once the season reached its final stages. However, it may be wrapped up while discussions are ongoing about a potential takeover proposal and the Glazer family is still considering offers for the club.

United had not yet completed its investigation into Greenwood, but the process had advanced and a resolution was very near.

The Glazers will make the final decision over what course of action to take in opposition to the player after consulting with chief executive Ric Arnold.
