BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign €126million attacker
According to The Athletic, a verbal agreement has been made between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid for Joao Felix to join on loan.
For the loan of Felix, the Blues will pay Atletico Madrid €11 million (£9.68 million).
Atletico Madrid will now accept Chelsea’s offer, which was originally worth €21 million (£18.6 million; $22.5 million), which would have included a €15 million loan fee and a €6 million gross salary for the transfer of Felix.
In July 2019, Felix, at 23 years old, transferred from Benfica to Atletico in a €126 million club record transaction.
The Portuguese forward, who has been played across the front line in a number of different formations by head coach Diego Simeone, has five goals and three assists in 20 club appearances this season.
On Sunday, Atletico started Felix in a front-two as they fell to league-leading Barcelona 1-0 at home. At the end of 73 minutes, he was replaced.
