BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea owner Todd Boehly steps down

According to The Telegraph, Todd Boehly, the owner of Chelsea, has resigned as Chelsea’s interim sporting director.

After purchasing the team from Roman Abramovich and following the exits of Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech last summer, Boehly appointed himself interim sporting director.

In order to oversee the club’s transfer activity alongside the then-manager Thomas Tuchel until a permanent replacement was found, Boehly appointed himself as the position’s “interim” sports director.

After resigning as temporary director, the American billionaire has recruited a recruitment team and is now only Chelsea’s chairman.

After Joe Shields and Laurence Stewart have completed their respective notice periods at Southampton and Monaco, they will be joined by Christopher Vivell and Paul Winstanley in February. They formerly played for RB Leipzig and Brighton, respectively.
