Breaking News: Glazers Finally Accept Qatari Bid for Manchester United, Sheikh Jassim Commences Due Diligence

According to a report from the UK Sun, Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim’s substantial £6 billion proposal to acquire Manchester United has ultimately gained approval from the Glazer family.

This protracted negotiation process has spanned over a span of more than nine months.

Initially, in November 2022, the Glazers stated that they were in the process of “exploring strategic alternatives.”

Following a meticulous evaluation of multiple bids, the selection was narrowed down to two contenders: Sheikh Jassim, backed by Qatari resources, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the founder of Ineos.

During this decision-making period, the Glazer family deliberated on both offers, with Joel and Avram seemingly favoring Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s proposal, as it would have allowed them to retain their existing shares within the club.

However, Sheikh Jassim progressively increased his bid, leading to a pivotal moment where the Glazer siblings reached a unanimous consensus, opting for a complete sale of the club.

This significant development signals the impending conclusion of the Glazer family’s eventful and debated 18-year era at Old Trafford.
