Breaking News: Man United will drop plans to sign Moises Caicedo if Chelsea accept their bid to sign Mason Mount
According to reports from the Daily Mail via Metro, Manchester United will abandon their pursuit of Brighton’s Moises Caicedo if Chelsea agrees to their bid for Mason Mount.
Chelsea has rejected Manchester United’s third offer for Mount, which amounted to £55 million, as the Blues are holding out for a fee of £65 million.
In the meantime, Manchester United has expressed interest in signing Caicedo from Brighton and is willing to engage in negotiations if they cannot reach a resolution with Chelsea regarding Mount.
However, acquiring Caicedo would be a more expensive endeavor, as Brighton is seeking around £80 million for the Ecuadorian midfielder.
If Manchester United successfully secures a deal for Mount, they will withdraw from the pursuit of Caicedo. This decision is influenced by United’s limited budget for the summer, which is reportedly around £120 million.
