Breaking News: Manchester United decide on signing Caicedo after Mount deal

Manchester United have made the decision to withdraw from the competition to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton. Initially, there were reports that Erik ten Hag’s team was considering making an offer for Caicedo, as they were prepared to give up their pursuit of Chelsea’s Mason Mount, who had rejected two previous bids from United earlier this month.

However, a breakthrough occurred on Thursday when Manchester United agreed to a deal worth an initial £55 million for Mount, with a potential additional £5 million based on appearances and team success. Mount is said to have agreed to a five-year contract with the option for an additional year, solidifying United’s midfield options.

As reported by The Athletic, the imminent arrival of Mount at Old Trafford has led Manchester United to abandon their interest in Caicedo. Consequently, it appears that Caicedo is now on course to join Chelsea.
