Chelsea £290,000 per week player on the verge of joining Karim Benzema in Saudi club

The Sun quotes Italian journalist Rudy Galetti as saying that N’Golo Kante, a midfielder for Chelsea, is close to joining Al Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League.

Kante’s Chelsea contract expires in the summer, and this week, representatives from the Saudi club will visit London to negotiate with Kante’s agency.

Al Ittihad are confident that they will be able to recruit Kante this summer. They also anticipate that a decision will be made swiftly.

Kante made 269 appearances for Chelsea after moving there for £30 million in 2016 from Leicester.

He was only able to play in nine games this season, though, because of a bad hamstring injury.

Kante had been given a two-year contract extension by Chelsea in an effort to keep him on staff, but the 32-year-old now appears to be leaving Stamford Bridge permanently.

Kante will partner up with his international teammate Karim Benzema at the Saudi club if he joins Al Ittihad.
