According to the Portuguese publication Record (via Sport Witness), Chelsea will send personnel to see Benfica play Porto on Friday night, with Todd Boehly’s attendance potentially a “possibility.” They say they’ll be there to watch Ramos, but they also say they’ll “take notes” on the other players.
The 21-year-old forward has already been associated with the Blues, and he seems to be a key target before the summer transfer window.
If Chelsea can finalize a deal, Ramos might be a highly exciting addition because the seven-cap Portuguese international would likely join as a significant player and long-term addition given their striker shortage.
With 17 goals in 22 games this season, he has been a dominant force in the Primeira Liga. However, he also excelled on a big stage at the World Cup last winter, scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland after replacing Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting lineup.
