Chelsea offered AC Milan two players in exchange deal for Rafael Leao
Rafael Leao, an AC Milan attacker, was supposedly offered by Chelsea two players in exchange for him last summer.
The Athletic claims that Chelsea made a bold offer to entice Leao away from the Rossoneri by including Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech in the package.
The Premier League powerhouses were in the middle of their maiden transfer window under Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali’s leadership at the time. The ownership group afterwards spent more than £600 million on a number of players between the summer and winter transfer windows.
They offered a number of options to try to compel a move for Leao, but no agreement was reached.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will sign the 23-year-old again.
Leao has excelled for AC Milan ever since he joined the team in 2019.
In 159 games with the Serie A giants, the Portugal international has 40 goals and 34 assists.
In the summer of 2024, Leao’s contract with AC Milan will come to an end.
