Chelsea pick £82,113 per week Star to replacement Mason Mount from LaLiga
Chelsea has identified Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga as a potential replacement for Mason Mount, who is expected to join Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window. The Blues have been actively selling players, including N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz, Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech, Jorginho, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, as part of their ongoing squad restructuring.
In preparation for Mount’s departure, Chelsea has already initiated the process of finding a suitable replacement. According to reports from the Evening Standard, Gabri Veiga is their primary target for the attacking midfield position. The 21-year-old Spaniard, who has a release clause in his contract with Celta Vigo, is available for £34.6 million. Notably, Manchester City and Liverpool have also been linked with an interest in Veiga.
Last season, Veiga showcased his talent by scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 40 appearances for Celta Vigo. His standout performance came on the final day of the season, where he netted a brace in a 2-1 victory over LaLiga champions Barcelona, securing Celta Vigo’s survival in the top flight of Spanish football.
