Chelsea to sell these 8 Star players after reporting a loss of £121million

Chelsea Football Club is reportedly planning to sell up to eight players during the upcoming summer transfer window. This decision follows the club’s financial report that showed a loss of £121million for the previous season, according to the Evening Standard.

To comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, the club aims to reduce its squad from 33 players to a more typical 25-man group. This move will allow Chelsea to raise funds while also maintaining a healthy balance sheet.

The following players are expected to be made available for transfer this summer: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Hakim Ziyech, and Christian Pulisic. These players have either underperformed or have not featured frequently in the squad this season.

Moreover, there is a growing feeling that Mateo Kovacic may also depart from Chelsea. The club has yet to open talks regarding an extension to his current contract, which has only 16 months left to run.

Another player whose future at Chelsea is in doubt is goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. The discussions about a new deal collapsed in September, and there have been no talks since. As a result, it is unlikely that Mendy will discuss a new deal until the end of the season, which could pave the way for his exit.

MASON MOUNT’S CONTRACT RENEWAL AND INTEREST FROM TOP CLUBS

Mason Mount’s future at Chelsea is also uncertain. Talks over his contract renewal broke down shortly after the World Cup, and there has been no progress since then. His current deal expires in 2024, and several top clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City, have shown an interest in signing the 24-year-old midfielder.

Chelsea’s decision to sell up to eight players is a clear indication that the club is committed to complying with the Premier League’s financial regulations. While it is never easy to let go of talented players, the Blues must prioritize their long-term financial health.

The summer transfer window promises to be an exciting one, with several top players expected to move clubs. Chelsea’s clear-out will likely free up funds for the club to sign new players and strengthen their squad for the next season.
