Chelsea will continue to make efforts in the coming hours to sign a new player

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are now entirely focused on acquiring Enzo Fernandez and have abandoned their interest in acquiring Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

After failing to reach an agreement with Benfica earlier in January and having a £55 million bid for Caicedo rejected, the Blues are once again in negotiations to try to bring Fernandez to Stamford Bridge.

Fernandez was voted the Best Young Player of the World Cup after helping Argentina win the World Cup in Qatar.

Chelsea are now entirely focused on Enzo and not Caicedo after a £55 million bid was rejected ten days ago, according to Romano for Caught Offside.

Chelsea is willing to pay a €120 million fee to Benfica for Enzo Fernandez, but Rui Costa will ultimately decide whether to keep the player or not.

Chelsea “will push in the upcoming hours, repeatedly.”
