Chelsea will get a Star player for €20m less – Initial asking price looked fanciful

Recent reports from the Italian media suggest that Chelsea may be open to the possibility of a potential exchange deal involving Romelu Lukaku. Juventus has expressed interest in including Dusan Vlahovic in the deal, and negotiations are now focused on bridging the price gap between the two strikers.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Juventus is seeking €30m and additional bonuses for Vlahovic as part of the deal to let him move to Stamford Bridge. This would mean that Lukaku’s transfer to London would amount to approximately €70m. From the Italian perspective, this is considered a discounted price, as Juventus had initially hoped to sell Vlahovic for €90m.

However, the €90m price tag for Vlahovic was seen as unrealistic, and it is unlikely that Juventus would have been able to secure such a fee. Presenting this high figure and then accepting €70m could be a negotiation tactic to make the deal seem more appealing to both clubs.

Ultimately, the negotiations between Chelsea and Juventus will determine the final terms of the potential exchange deal, and both parties are likely to work towards finding a mutually beneficial agreement.
