Club looking to sign Chelsea star player in deal worth €30m – Contact expected in coming days
Four days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport provided information about an ongoing dispute between Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku as the club seeks to offload him permanently.
The striker spent last season on loan at Inter Milan and desires a return to the San Siro during the summer transfer window. Gazzetta previously mentioned that the Serie A side was unable to meet Chelsea’s €40 million asking price.
According to Sky Italia, Simone Inzaghi’s team has come up with a new proposal to appease Chelsea and facilitate the departure of the 30-year-old forward.
The report states that Inter is expected to initiate fresh negotiations with the Premier League club in the coming days to bring the Belgian international back to their ranks. Sky reveals that the Italian club’s plan involves suggesting a loan agreement with an obligation to buy Lukaku for €30 million. Additionally, Inter intends to spread the payment over multiple years.
Inter believes that this solution could persuade Chelsea to authorize Lukaku’s transfer in this window, although it remains to be seen if that would be the case.
During the previous season, Lukaku showcased his abilities by scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists in 47 appearances for Inter.
