Club urged to try and strike early deal with Manchester United for striker – €60m could be useful this summer

While losing Rasmus Højlund this summer would not be an ideal situation for Atalanta in Serie A, the money they would receive from Manchester United could significantly benefit the club.

There have been various reports about Manchester United’s interest in the Danish striker, and it seems that Højlund is open to a move to Old Trafford. However, so far, the offers, if any, haven’t met Atalanta’s expectations.

The transfer window is a long process, and a lot can change before the end of August. Corriere di Bergamo suggests that reaching an early agreement could be advantageous for all parties involved. They examine Manchester United’s desire to sign Højlund and acknowledge that the player could depart Atalanta during this summer.

The outcome depends on the actions of Manchester United and Atalanta’s president, Antonio Percassi. If both parties delay negotiations until the end of the transfer window, with Manchester United seeking a discount and Percassi waiting for a better offer, it could be harmful to Atalanta. Without Højlund in their squad, they would lose a vital attacking option in Gian Piero Gasperini’s team. Additionally, the €60m they could receive from the Premier League side for reinvestment might come too late to make meaningful acquisitions.

As a result, Corriere di Bergamo encourages Percassi to be more flexible if he intends to sell Højlund, which could create an opportunity for Manchester United to make a satisfactory offer that satisfies everyone involved.
