€126million Star player happy to complete summer transfer to Chelsea without playing Champions League football next season

Portugal’s international footballer Joao Felix is reportedly open to joining Chelsea on a permanent basis this summer, regardless of whether the club finishes in the Premier League’s top four this season. According to 90min, Felix, who is currently on loan with the Blues until the end of the season, has impressed Chelsea’s management, who are eager to keep him.

Atletico Madrid, Felix’s parent club, are looking to offload the young striker and free up his high wages. However, they are still demanding a substantial transfer fee, expected to be around €100m (£88m).

In 2019, Atletico broke their transfer record by paying €126m to sign Felix from Benfica. This was after Felix scored an impressive 15 goals in 26 league games during his only senior season with Benfica.

Despite being tenth in the Premier League, Chelsea has continued to be interested in securing Felix on a permanent basis. However, the club’s current position, 11 points adrift of the top four, means that they are unlikely to qualify for next year’s European football competition.

Felix is reportedly keen on playing in the Champions League. Nevertheless, according to 90min, he would be willing to spend a season outside Europe’s elite club competition if he is given a significant role in the team. Felix has already played eight games for Chelsea, starting all of them and scoring one goal in the process.

The possibility of a permanent transfer to Chelsea would be an exciting opportunity for Felix, as it would enable him to play in one of the world’s most competitive football leagues. Moreover, Chelsea’s style of play would provide Felix with an excellent opportunity to showcase his talents and develop further as a player.

Joao Felix is reportedly open to joining Chelsea on a permanent basis, regardless of the team’s position in the Premier League this season. While playing in the Champions League remains a priority for the young striker, he is willing to spend a season outside Europe’s elite competition if given a significant role in the team. With Chelsea’s interest in securing Felix on a permanent basis, fans of the Blues will undoubtedly be excited at the prospect of having a player of his calibre in their team.
