“Edson Alvarez to Chelsea transfer” Renewed interest, player stance, £43m bid, Dortmund move

To secure Alvarez’s services, Chelsea is said to be ready to submit a bid of £43 million to Ajax. However, it’s worth noting that Borussia Dortmund is also interested in the player, creating competition for his signature.

As the transfer window progresses, the situation remains dynamic, and it will be interesting to see how negotiations evolve between the clubs and the player’s stance on the matter. Chelsea is actively exploring options to strengthen their squad, and Edson Alvarez could be a valuable addition to their midfield lineup if a deal is successfully reached.

The possibility of Edson Alvarez joining Chelsea has resurfaced, with Mauricio Pochettino showing interest in bolstering his midfield ahead of the upcoming season. Alvarez was previously close to making a move to Chelsea last summer, but Ajax prevented the transfer due to their inability to find a suitable replacement before the transfer window closed. The Blues had a £43 million bid rejected by Ajax, leading to Alvarez staying with the Dutch club.

However, Alvarez has once again emerged as a potential option for Chelsea, as it appears he is likely to leave Ajax this summer. While Moises Caicedo remains Chelsea’s priority, a move for Alvarez could materialize, providing a viable alternative to strengthen their midfield. As the transfer window progresses, negotiations and developments between the parties will determine whether the deal becomes a reality.

Chelsea renew interest in Alvarez

According to The Times, Chelsea is showing interest in both Leeds United’s Tyler Adams and Ajax’s Edson Alvarez. Last summer, Alvarez was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but despite his best efforts, a £40 million transfer to Chelsea did not materialize.

After his failed move to Chelsea, Alvarez revealed that he tried to force the transfer by emulating Antony’s approach, refusing to report for first-team training during the summer transfer window. The Mexican midfielder expressed his disappointment about the situation, but he remains confident that a big club will come for him eventually.

Alvarez acknowledged that Ajax was unable to do anything when Chelsea submitted another bid at the end of August, leading to the failed transfer. Despite the setback, the 24-year-old midfielder believes that his chance to move to a big club will come in the future.

As per 90min, Borussia Dortmund’s move for Edson Alvarez has stalled, leaving West Ham United still interested in signing the Ajax defensive midfielder. Alvarez had expressed interest in moving to Germany, but with the move not progressing, West Ham remains an option.

Ajax signed Alvarez from Club America in July 2019 on a five-year deal, and he recently extended his contract for one more year, keeping him at the club until 2025. Currently earning £19,000-per-week, it’s reported that Chelsea is willing to quadruple his wages if he decides to join them at Stamford Bridge.

Despite Alvarez’s desire for a move to Chelsea, Manchester United might still hold an advantage. His former Ajax teammate and now Red Devils defender, Lisandro Martinez, has spoken fondly about Alvarez, expressing a desire to play with him again at some point. Martinez, who recently signed a five-year deal with Manchester United, considers Alvarez like a brother and hopes to reunite with him at another club in the future.
