“Everything is in our hand” – Ten Hag speaks on Man Utd losing top four to Liverpool after West Ham loss

Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has emphasized that their destiny is within their control as they strive to secure qualification for the Champions League.

Following their second slip-up in four days, which opened the door for Liverpool, Ten Hag addressed the situation. Despite still maintaining a one-point lead over Jurgen Klopp’s team, Manchester United now only have one game in hand after suffering a 1-0 defeat against West Ham on Sunday.

Consequently, Ten Hag’s squad has experienced consecutive league defeats, while Liverpool has been enjoying a triumphant streak of six consecutive victories.

When queried about the impact of Liverpool’s successful run on his team, Ten Hag responded by stating, “It’s not about Liverpool; it’s about us. If you examine the league table, we possess full control over our fate.”

He further added, “If we perform at our best and uphold our standards, we will emerge victorious. We need not focus on others; we must direct our attention inward and rediscover the level of play we are capable of.”

Ten Hag reiterated that the circumstances remain unaltered, expressing, “Securing a win would have made things easier, but we now require three victories out of the remaining four matches. Our destiny lies solely in our hands. We must maintain our belief.”
