Fabrizio Romano Drops Bombshell on Chelsea Midfielder’s Future
Mason Mount recently switched agents, which is why it appears that his contract with Chelsea may not be successful. However, we will examine possible outcomes in the coming days.
According to Fabrizio, discussions and negotiations with the player and the club are ongoing as we work to finalize this agreement.
We don’t know the specifics because none of us are involved in the negotiations, but highly reliable sources have said that he wants a significant pay raise from his current weekly salary of £90,000. There have also been rumors that he is unwilling to sign a 6-7 year contract with the club.
With Todd Boehly splashing the cash on expensive forwards and possibly making Joao Felix’s transfer permanent, Mount’s future appears to be in some doubt. I don’t think Potter or Boehly will be able to give Mount the assurances he seeks regarding his starting position for the upcoming season, given the overall situation.
Conversations are ongoing for Mason Mount, nothing is agreed or close, Mount decided to change his agent over the last few months to his father who is dealing with everything, this is why it is going slow over these last few months. (@FabrizioRomano@ChampsHouseCBS) #CFCpic.twitter.com/zAsb7l9RJS
