From La Liga to Old Trafford: How Man Utd’s Potential €100 Million Signing Could Revamp the Attack with Rashford

Despite Manchester United’s interest, Spanish powerhouse Barcelona ‘may sell’ Ansu Fati for €100 million in the forthcoming transfer window, according to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs on CaughtOffside (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The forward’s performance has dipped a little in recent seasons. The Red Devils believe the 20-year-old has a lot of potential, however. His “world class potential” has the support of the Old Trafford team.

At the Blaugrana, Fati rose through the ranks. At age 16, the teenager broke into the senior side after making an impression at La Masia and managed to attract a lot of attention.

The 20-year-old later established himself as a first-team member. After Lionel Messi left in the summer of 2021, he was even given the number 10 shirt.

However, since then, injuries have hampered the growth of the Spain international. He has had a difficult time getting into the game this season under Xavi.

Fati has made 20 appearances in La Liga this season, mostly on the left flank, scoring three goals and dishing out three assists. The 20-year-old has started only seven league games, however.

Marcus Rashford has recovered at United under Erik ten Hag after having a difficult previous season. The 2022–23 season has seen the England international serve as the Red Devils’ talisman.

As the 25-year-understudy old’s on the left side of the attack, Alejandro Garnacho has also showed a lot of potential. Coming off the bench, the Argentinean teenager has delivered a number of crucial displays.
