Glazers offer top class star £325k per week to replace Man United first team player

According to rumors in Spain, as reported by Football 365, Manchester United is reportedly searching for a replacement for David De Gea and has turned their attention to Thibaut Courtois, leading the Glazers to make a bid for the Real Madrid superstar.

Courtois, who spent five seasons with Real Madrid after leaving Chelsea, has achieved significant success during his time there. He won the Premier League with Chelsea, followed by La Liga and the Champions League with Real Madrid.

In the most recent season, Courtois played in 31 games in the top division and conceded only 29 goals. However, his team was unable to win the league in the 2022-23 season.

Courtois has reestablished himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, if not the best, through his outstanding performances over the past year. For instance, his save percentage of 78.9% puts him in the top 5% in that category, and his ability to stop crosses places him in the top 9%.

This showcases his confident command of his penalty area, especially when dealing with long balls and crosses, an area where De Gea has often struggled, in addition to his shot-stopping abilities.

As a result of his impressive performances, Manchester United has shown interest in signing Courtois. Executives at the club reportedly have a genuine desire to bring him in and have made a substantial bid of 80 million Euros (£69 million) to secure his services during the summer transfer window, according to reports from Spain via Football 365.

With Manchester United actively seeking a new goalkeeper, it suggests that De Gea may be on his way out of Old Trafford. Courtois’ previous experience in the Premier League makes him an attractive option, and the club is said to be offering him a contract worth £17 million (approximately £325 thousand per week).

Courtois’ current contract with Real Madrid is set to expire in 2026, indicating that the Spanish club would likely prefer to retain him beyond this summer. However, if a bid of this magnitude is indeed on the table, it may tempt them to consider a deal.

Should Manchester United secure the signing of Courtois, they would acquire a goalkeeper who has been described as “top class” by football writer Josh Bunting and has consistently lived up to that description.

Bunting also praised Courtois’ performance in the Champions League final against Liverpool, calling it “immense.” If Manchester United were to sign him, they would not only have a more reliable option in goal but also gain bragging rights over their competitors.
