Graham Potter admits Chelsea will be forced into selling these two key players

Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, acknowledged on Friday that the team could have to sell some important players like Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount this summer.

The Blues have the biggest squad in the Premier League, but due to their losses of £120 million and the possibility that they won’t play in Europe next season, they will have to sell some of their players in order to adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations.

The Chelsea manager added, “That is the challenge we have. We have a large, deep roster that is full of excellent players. Because it isn’t about my perspective, these issues are really intricate. It concerns the player, the club, and many other factors over which I have no control.

“All I can do is share my assessment of Mason as a football player and a human being, and I only have good things to say about him.

Mateo is a person for whom I have a great deal of respect. He has served as captain and has a position on the team. Mateo and the club must negotiate, though.

“There is no such thing as an ideal world, therefore throughout the summer, you cope with your circumstances and make judgments.

You conduct business as usual and acknowledge that you must act in this football club’s best interests while putting everyone else’s needs last.
