Graham Potter confirms £110k-a-week Chelsea player will return to squad tomorrow vs Newcastle

Jorginho of Chelsea resumed working out on Friday and might be back in the lineup for Chelsea’s Premier League match against Newcastle United on Saturday.

The penultimate match before the World Cup break will take place at St. James’ Park when the Blues go there tomorrow evening to take on an in-form Newcastle team.

Graham Potter’s team is in desperate need of a win after suffering three losses in their previous four games overall. Chelsea has 21 points after 13 games and is currently ranked seventh in the league.

Newcastle, who are now in third place and are in the Champions League spots, on the other hand, are having a wonderful season under manager Eddie Howe. They’ve played 14 league games so far and have racked up 27 points.

A small bit of encouraging injury news has been sent to Chelsea before of the match against Newcastle.

Jorginho’s fitness status was updated by Blues head coach Graham Potter at his pre-game news conference.

Jorginho worked out today, so assuming there isn’t a reaction, Potter said, “He should be in the squad.”

Jorginho, 30, participated in the league loss to Arsenal last Saturday, but he missed the midweek Carabao Cup loss to Manchester City due to a foot issue.

However, the midfielder who makes £110,000 a week might be included in the starting lineup this Saturday against Newcastle.

There is no point in endangering Jorginho in tomorrow’s game if there are worries because he will soon begin a lengthy sabbatical for players like him who are not traveling to the World Cup.

There is a strong possibility that the Italian deep-lying playmaker will contribute significantly to Chelsea in the matches that take place just after the World Cup.

Given that his contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer, there is question around his future there, but he is still an extremely crucial player in Potter’s team right now.
