Graham Potter explains why he to take off Mykhailo Mudryk at half-time against Fulham

Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, has revealed why he substituted Mykhailo Mudryk at halftime of Friday night’s scoreless draw with Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old made an electrifying performance in his first game for the team, a 35-minute cameo against Liverpool last month. He signed from Shakhtar Donetsk in an £89 million move last month.

However, he performed less well while making his entire debut against Fulham and was replaced by fellow January hire Noni Madueke at halftime.

After the game, Potter commented to beIN Sports: “It’s always that that occasionally with the young players.

He also suffered from a severe cold. That has caused him some discomfort this week.

At halftime, he simply felt a little heavy-legged. With him, we didn’t want to take any chances.

We used some subs, and I thought Noni Madueke came on and performed admirably as well, so that’s good for us.

We didn’t want to take a chance with him, Potter stated in a separate interview with Sky Sports.

Because of the respite he took in Ukraine, we are still working to increase his playing time. Therefore, it was the choice made.
