He has stepped up, did really well – Potter hails Chelsea star
Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has received praise from Chelsea manager Graham Potter for stepping up.
Chelsea overcame a goal deficit to win 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday, securing a much-needed victory.
Edouard Mendy, the starting goalkeeper, was replaced by Arrizabalaga because he failed a last-minute fitness test before the game.
After Crystal Palace’s Patrick Vieira took the lead, Kepa made a couple of excellent saves to set up the Blues’ comeback.
And Potter praised the Spain goalkeeper, noting that he shown incredible mental fortitude to deliver a performance of that caliber so quickly.
In the post-game interview, Potter observed, “I felt he did extremely well.”
“He made a few key saves, but I also thought his distribution and judgment were excellent.
In the end, we need players to step up, and I thought he did today.
