“He influence me to join Chelsea” – Enzo Fernandez reveals who made Chelsea transfer possible

Enzo Fernandez, a new Chelsea midfielder, thanked Todd Boehly, the club’s co-owner, for “doing everything they could” to complete his £107 million transfer.

After the Blues paid Benfica a British-record transfer fee, Fernandez signed a contract at Stamford Bridge for eight and a half years.

The cost of the 22-year-old midfielder has eclipsed the £100 million transfer of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa to Manchester City in August 2021.

Fernandez underwent a medical in Lisbon on the day of the deadline following a last-minute development in negotiations, and the paperwork was completed just in time.

He has now expressed his gratitude for their perseverance to Chelsea and Boehly.

“I appreciate everything that Chelsea and its ownership did to include me in this initiative.

“I’m thrilled and looking forward to playing for the Pride of London, competing for the biggest trophies, and playing in the best league in the world.

Fernandez told the club’s official website, “I can’t wait to play in front of our fans and aid my team-mates on and off the pitch.
