“He is a disgrace” – Fans blamed Chelsea star for 1-0 defeat to Manchester City
Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night has been attributed by Chelsea supporters to Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Riyad Mahrez’s goal against Chelsea has been attributed to Chelsea’s goalie.
Kepa appeared to pull away from trying for Jack Grealish’s low cross from the left across the six-yard box, which allowed the ball to zip past him and set up Mahrez for an easy tap-in at the back post.
The goalie’s choice not to extend an arm to try and stop the pass also perplexed Chelsea supporters.
“Why doesn’t Kepa try to cut the cross out?” asked a Chelsea supporter. It doesn’t appear to be that far from him!
I don’t understand why Kepa let the ball float past him, a fellow fan added.
“Don’t get why Kepa just lets that roll by him for Mahrez to score,” a particularly irate supporter added. poor goalkeeping
Another yelled: “Kepa is a shame for that goal!” in the meantime.
“Shocking goalkeeping that!” exclaimed a another fan. Wow.”
