“He is not the answer to Chelsea problem” – Chelsea slammed for decision to sign £113million attacker

Joao Felix, an attacker for Atletico Madrid and a Portugal international, has drawn criticism from Ally McCoist for Chelsea’s decision to sign him on a season-long loan.

To sign Felix, the Blues will pay a £10 million loan fee to Atletico Madrid in addition to his enormous salary.

First of all, McCoist said, “I’ve got to say I can’t believe we’re paying £10m for a loan now – pure crazy.”

“Although I admire Joao Felix, I don’t believe he is the solution to Chelsea’s issues. They need a center forward, and I don’t think he plays with enough consistency.

“I paid great attention to him during the World Cup, and I thought he made some brilliant decisions.

He is one of those guys, in my opinion, who just leaves you wanting a little bit more. “I felt he had one or two good games,” I said.

In his 14 LaLiga games for Atletico this season, Felix has been inconsistent, scoring just four goals and dishing out three assists.

The 23-year-old transferred from Benfica to the Spanish team in 2019 for £113 million, which is still the fourth-highest transfer fee in football history.

Felix is anticipated to be the newest player to join Stamford Bridge. So far this transfer window, Chelsea has already announced the signings of Benoit Badiashile ($58 million from Monaco), David Datro Fofana, and Andrey Santos.
