“He Will not help them” – Dietmar Hamann gives verdict on Man Utd’s new signing

Dietmar Hamann, a former player for Liverpool, has commented on Marcel Sabitzer, who has just joined Manchester United.

On the final day of the January transfer window, Man United acquired Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich.

Following news that midfielder Christian Eriksen will be out until early April or early May, the Austrian midfielder signed with Manchester United without having the option to purchase.

Recall that on January 28, during their FA Cup fourth-round victory against Reading, Eriksen suffered an ankle injury following a powerful tackle from Andy Carroll.

Sabitzer was also rumored to be moving to Chelsea, but he ended up signing with Manchester United. According to Hamann, the 28-year-old may find it challenging to settle in quickly at Old Trafford.

I’m not sure he will be of immediate assistance to Chelsea and Manchester United, therefore I’m surprised they’re interested in Sabitzer, Hamann told Sky Sports.

“He’s a good squad player to have, but I’m not sure if he has an immediate impact. He’s definitely not a player to step in for Christian Eriksen, but I think he’s a box-to-box player with a terrific engine, versatility, and the ability to play full-back occasionally.
