Chelsea has finally made its first acquisition under Mauricio Pochettino.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte will play for Chelsea next season, claims Portuguese publication Record.
Despite Paris Saint-Germain offering a higher wage than Chelsea, the 22-year-old Uruguayan midfielder selected Chelsea.
Ugarte received a salary offer from PSG of €5 million per year, but he will make €3.5 million at Chelsea. Ugarte preferred Chelsea to PSG because he wanted to play in the Premier League, which was his ambition.
According to reports, Chelsea will transfer Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon for a fee of €60 million plus €5 million in bonuses.
