“His agent will threaten” – Arsenal told they could sign real leader for £70m
Declan Rice, a target for the Arsenal transfer team, will be moved this summer for “£70 million,” according to West Ham United’s Jay Bothroyd on Twitter.
In anticipation of a potential summer departure, the former Arsenal youth product was answering the question, “How much is Declan Rice worth?”
The Hammers will be at a disadvantage in trying to acquire as much money as they can for their star player because Rice’s contract is set to expire in July.
In a recent interview, David Moyes predicted that West Ham’s captain will sell for more money than Chelsea did for Enzo Fernandez, who cost them £107 million.
But if West Ham act in this way, Rice and his agency will “threaten to leave for free,” forcing them to accept a reduced cost, which would be advantageous to Arsenal, according to Jay Bothroyd.
“Not with a year left on his contract,” Bothroyd responded in reference to Rice’s estimated £100 million worth. “His agent will make a threat to quit on his own.”Sorry to break it to you, bro, but £70 million will do.”
Few will contest the fact that Rice is prepared to advance in his career by joining a squad competing in the Champions League.
Some contend that the 24-year-old isn’t worth the £100 million+ that has been spoken about him, as did Paul Scholes.
Arsenal’s interest in the player is undeniable; the question is if they are willing to spend astronomical sums on him since they consider him to be a “real leader.”
