‘I have to play’ – £15,000 per week Chelsea player sends warning to Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino

Levi Colwill, the young Chelsea player, emphasizes the importance of playing time for his development in the upcoming season, following his contribution to England’s victory in the European Under-21 Championship, a feat not achieved in nearly four decades.

The 20-year-old center-back made a strong impression during his loan spell at Brighton last season. Despite interest from clubs such as Brighton, Manchester City, and Liverpool, Chelsea has made it clear that Colwill is not available for sale.

Speaking about his England Under-21 teammates and the possibility of being considered for Gareth Southgate’s senior squad, Colwill stated, “We’re all pushing and knocking on the door. Everyone deserves attention in this team. I feel that our team is more than just a group of individuals. In the past, England may have lacked this kind of unity. We’ve always had great players, but I believe this team is different. I truly love this team.”

Colwill expressed his intention to discuss his future plans with his family and make a decision. His main focus is on getting playing time, which he hopes will help him progress and potentially earn a call-up to the senior national team. Nevertheless, he emphasizes that being part of any England age group is an honor and would make him happy.

When asked about Colwill during his first press conference as Chelsea manager, Pochettino expressed the need to familiarize himself with the player and understand his aspirations and expectations. Pochettino also emphasized the importance of conveying his own expectations to Colwill.
