“I hope he will be okey very soon” Graham Potter speak on Reece James injury in Chelsea win vs AC Milan

“I hope he will be okey very soon” Graham Potter speak on Reece James injury in Chelsea win vs AC Milan

Reece James left the game hurt during Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday, and Graham Potter expressed his hope that he will recover.

After chasing Rafael Leao for 62 minutes, James collapsed to the ground and needed to be replaced; Potter took his place in place of Cesar Azpilicueta.

The England right-back, who has played a significant role this season under both Potter and former manager Thomas Tuchel, may suffer a major setback for Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has played the entire 90 minutes in six of Chelsea’s other seven games and has appeared in every Premier League game Chelsea has played this season with the exception of one, a midweek loss at Southampton in August.

In addition, James has played the full 90 minutes in each of Chelsea’s previous Champions League games this season, underscoring his significance to the team.

When asked about James’ injury, Potter played coy and said there would be information soon.

Potter stated after defeating the Italian champs at the San Siro, “Reece, we’re hopeful he’ll be okay.”

“It’s too early to tell you anything more than that,” I said.

The goals scored by Jorignho and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped Chelsea defeat AC Milan 2-0.

After scoring against Crystal Palace and in the rematch, Aubameyang has now scored in three straight games for the Blues.

The first-half dismissal of AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori for a foul inside the area on Mason Mount was followed by Chelsea’s two goals.

On Sunday, the west London team will return to action as they travel to take on Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa.

While all is going on, Chelsea’s next Champions League match is on October 25, when they travel to Red Bull Salzburg for their penultimate Group E match.

Potter’s team leads the division with seven points after two victories, a draw, and the opening loss to Dinamo Zagreb, which resulted in Tuchel’s dismissal last month.
