“I I’m very surprised by what Graham Potter Has done to £35m Chelsea player” – Joe Cole

Joe Cole has acknowledged that Benoit Badiashile’s exclusion from the Chelsea team for the Champions League match has “really shocked” him.

Wednesday night’s Champions League matchup between the Blues and Borussia Dortmund will take place in Germany. Hopefully Chelsea will do well in the opening leg of their round of 16 match.

Unfortunately, Potter had to make some difficult decisions before the European campaign started.

Joao Felix, Enzo Fernandez, and Mykhailo Mudryk, three new additions to Chelsea’s roster for the remainder of the Champions League competition. However, neither Badiashile nor Noni Madueke, who had signed in January, could fit.

By the way, according to The Athletic, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was “shocked” to learn he didn’t make the European team.

According to Joe Cole, he was taken completely off guard by Badiashile’s exclusion from the Champions League:

Cole told The Independent, “I was extremely disappointed that (Badiashile) was left out.

“He looks fantastic, really. He seems to have been created to play alongside Thiago Silva.

Badiashile, who moved to Chelsea for £35 million from Monaco last month, has fit in into Chelsea’s starting lineup.

With his defensive pairing with Thiago Silva, the Blues have only allowed one goal in their four Premier League games with the new center-back.

In this type of form, it seems like he should be one of the first names on the squad sheet, but the 21-year-old defender won’t be available for the club’s Champions League run.

However, it does imply that somebody like Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, or Kalidou Koulibaly might strive to impress.
