“I ready to leave the club” Chelsea star wants to terminate his Chelsea contract immediately

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta is keen to terminate his contract with Chelsea immediately and join Inter Milan as a free agent.

At 33 years old, Azpilicueta has one year remaining on his contract with Chelsea, but he has reached an agreement to join Inter Milan on a two-year deal as a free agent.

Romano stated, “César Azpilicueta is just waiting for Chelsea to give the green light for the mutual termination of his contract. It’s the final step to allow him to leave the club immediately, awaiting the decision from the club. Inter have agreed to personal terms with Azpilicueta on a two-year deal and are expecting to sign him soon.”

Meanwhile, according to the Evening Standard, Inter Milan has shown interest in Chelsea’s defensive duo, Cesar Azpilicueta and Trevoh Chalobah.

The report mentions that Azpilicueta’s future is uncertain after Chelsea acquired right-back Malo Gusto from Lyon in January. Gusto, 20, spent the latter part of the previous season on loan following his £31 million transfer but will return to Chelsea for pre-season training.

While Azpilicueta is not actively seeking a move this summer, Inter Milan sees an opportunity to sign the 33-year-old at a reduced fee, considering Chelsea’s surplus of defensive options.

Inter Milan has also inquired about the possibility of signing Chalobah on a season-long loan. The 23-year-old’s future at Chelsea has come into question following the club’s decision to recall Levi Colwill from his loan spell at Brighton, who will join Mauricio Pochettino’s team for pre-season.

Even if Chelsea sells Kalidou Koulibaly, who is expected to join Saudi Arabia following the footsteps of players like N’Golo Kante, Hakim Ziyech, and Edouard Mendy, the club still possesses ample defensive talent, with the likes of Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Thiago Silva, and Colwill all vying for first-team opportunities.

Chalobah, therefore, is open to leaving Chelsea this summer and recently traveled to Milan to meet with representatives from Inter.
