“I will fight Lampard”, I don’t rate him – Former Liverpool Defender slams Chelsea boss
Andre Wisdom, a former defender for Derby County and Liverpool, has criticized Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard.
According to reports, Lampard’s managerial career hasn’t gone well thus far. The Englishman, who started his management career at Derby County in 2018, departed the team in 2019 to join Chelsea, where he was fired after a string of disappointing defeats.
After taking over as Everton’s manager in 2022, Lampard helped the team avoid relegation but was fired by the Toffees after a string of losses.
After Graham Potter was fired from his position as manager at Stamford Bridge, the Blues’ new owners, backed by Todd Boehly, decided that his initial firing under the Roman Abramovich period was too harsh and reinstated him.
But in his first six matches in command of the West London team, the former midfielder for West Ham United, Chelsea, Manchester City, and New York City FC has presided over six losses.
Lampard coached Wisdom while he was at Derby, and the former Liverpool defender has acknowledged that he did not get along with the English trainer.
After their time at Pride Park, he even went so far as to threaten to fight Lampard if they ever crossed paths again.
Wisdom only made 11 Championship appearances while playing for Derby under Lampard, who was in charge for the 2018–19 season.
He said of the man on the podcast The Beautiful Game: “All the best to him; his work is his job.
“Would I speak to him if he were sitting here? Nah.
“What’s the name of the other guy? Lampard’s helper Jody Morris. Simply put, I wasn’t a fan.
They simply aren’t my kind of folks. I would probably fight with them on a night out. I simply anticipated more of him as a man.
