Including Kalidou Koulibaly to the deal – Club tells Chelsea to pay €40million to sign player

According to reports, Inter Milan would be willing to sell Andre Onana to Chelsea in exchange for an extension of Romelu Lukaku’s loan and Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper is a potential upgrade for Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy for the Blues. Last season, neither goalie was able to solidify his or her position as a regular starter.

Onana, meantime, is a member of Inter Milan, a squad that will play Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday (June 10). This summer, the Blues are tempted to sign Onana and bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Repubblica, an Italian publication, claims that Inter will approve the transaction if Koulibaly is received in exchange (h/t @Chels_HQ). Additionally, they want Lukaku’s loan assignment at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to be extended by the west London powerhouses.

Chelsea spent €38 million on the 31-year-old Senegal international last summer. With only 23 league games, it is clear that he has had trouble finding his form at his new team.

Meanwhile, in July of last year, Lukaku signed a season-long loan with I Nerazzurri. He was acquired by Chelsea for €113 million in the summer of 2021, but he struggled upon his return to Stamford Bridge.

Earlier this season, the 30-year-old himself acknowledged that he hoped to stay with the Italian powerhouses for “a long time.” What the Blues think of Inter’s proposal is still up in the air. Four years remain on Onana’s four-year contract.
