“It is been difficult” – Man United 110,000-a-week player confirms exit from Ten Hag side

When his contract with Manchester United expires in the summer, Phil Jones has declared he will leave the team.

Since arriving at Old Trafford in 2011, the 31-year-old has played 229 times for the Premier League’s elite clubs.

Jones’ injury has kept him sidelined the entire season. Twelve months ago, he made his last appearance in a 3-0 victory over Brentford.

Jones added, “The last couple of years have been very difficult.”

“That is something you cannot run from. My family has been incredibly helpful in keeping me on track, focused, and motivated to try to get fit and attempt to play more.

And I’ve missed playing football, you know. It eluded me. You play football all your life, and that’s all you want to do. From a young age, doing what you love for a living is all I’ve ever known. Fortunately, I’ve had the opportunity to do that, but not as frequently as I would have liked.
