“It will make Chelsea laughing stock” – Jordan disagrees with Redknapp over Lampard’s return

Simon Jordan, a former owner of Crystal Palace, had a difference of opinion with Jamie Redknapp, a former Liverpool player, on Frank Lampard’s impending return as Chelsea’s new interim manager.

Graham Potter was fired as Chelsea’s manager last weekend, and under the direction of co-owner Todd Boehly, Lampard will take over as interim manager until the end of the 2022–23 campaign.

Lampard’s return to Chelsea, according to Redknapp, is a “no-brainer,” though.

Jordan, though, thinks that Lampard’s return to Chelsea will only make the Blues an even “larger laughing stock.”

Jordan claimed on talkSPORT that it will make Chelsea the target of ridicule. He was an utter flop at Everton. Chelsea are considered a laughing stock in some circles.

Why would they want to add to that by bringing Frank Lampard in and turning themselves into an even greater laughing stock? Sadly, Frank is a great guy, but that doesn’t matter. Placement in the dugout with the purpose of winning a popularity contest.

Why would Frank want to do that, furthermore? By showing there and landing a work, he would be giving everyone a favor, which is demeaning.
