Conor Gallagher, a midfielder for Chelsea, said he could not believe Mateo Kovacic’s Champions League goal against Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday.
In front of their home supporters, the Blues defeated the resolute Austrians 2-1 to secure their spot in the Round of 16.
Gallagher received his first competition start as the Blues snapped Salzburg’s 40-game home winning streak.
Since Thomas Tuchel was replaced by Graham Potter in September, Chelsea has gone undefeated.
Kovacic gave Chelsea the lead with a superb goal from the edge of the box that appeared to catch everyone off guard.
