It’s Confirmed: Frank Lampard makes Chelsea return as temporary caretaker till the end of the season
Fabrizio Romano is now confirming Guardian allegations that Lampard is really being considered to lead the team on an interim basis before a long-term replacement is selected.
It’s still unclear if this will last a few days, a few weeks, or all the way till the summer. A prompt hiring appears conceivable given the availability of renowned coaches like Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique, although the board might have other candidates in mind.
Lampard is of course, 100% ready to accept.

It will provide a lot of closure for Lampard, who was fired under the previous ownership despite having some outstanding performances. Lampard appears to be in a wonderful position to take over as manager once more and try to improve the atmosphere at the team following some difficult times.
