“It’s enough, we need to stop” – We just can’t continue to sign new players – Chelsea boss Graham Potter React

Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, has acknowledged that the club cannot keep adding players despite announcing the acquisition of Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

After passing a medical in the morning, Mudryk signed a stunning eight-and-a-half-year contract and was introduced on the Stamford Bridge field at halftime during Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix, David Datro Fofana, and Andrey Santos were all already signed by Chelsea this month.

“We’ve had to be careful, not necessarily, but you’ve got to appreciate we’ve got ten or eleven players missing [through injury and suspension] and you can’t just recruit people to replace those because then you’d have a squad of 30, and that is a problem,” Potter added.

“Therefore, you must act morally and consider the best options.”

“There is a period of change, and you need to stabilize things and do your best to support,” Potter continued.

“It’s not a prescription for short- or long-term success if you’re in a situation where too many people are making hiring judgments in a short amount of time. In order to synchronize our resources, stabilize the situation, and make wise judgments.
