Just In: 21-year-old Chelsea youngster has already started pre-season training, Pochettino wants to coach him

The Albanian player suffered a serious knee injury in December during a friendly match against Aston Villa, which ended his season prematurely. However, he is now determined to have a successful 2023/24 season under the guidance of Pochettino.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea’s number 18, Broja, has made the decision to join the Under-21 team in Portugal for their pre-season training camp. This will give him a head start before Pochettino begins training with the first team in July. It is expected that Broja will have fully recovered by the time Chelsea starts their pre-season tour in the United States, primarily based in Philadelphia.

The Evening Standard also reports that Chelsea has no plans to sell the 21-year-old striker during the summer transfer window. They consider him a valuable asset in the attacking department for the upcoming season, alongside Christopher Nkunku and the incoming Nicolas Jackson.

In our opinion, Pochettino could have a significant impact on Broja’s performance at Stamford Bridge. Fabrizio Romano believes that the Argentine coach is excited about working with the Albanian player. Pochettino previously developed Harry Kane into a superstar when they worked together at Tottenham, starting when Kane was also just 21.

Broja shares similarities with Kane in terms of physique, as they both have a strong build, and they are deceptively quick. Therefore, there is no reason why Broja cannot model his game after the successful Tottenham forward and thrive under Pochettino’s guidance. Hopefully, the striker, born in Slough, will not experience any devastating injuries during the pre-season and will establish himself as a prominent figure at Stamford Bridge in the upcoming season.
