“Keep finishing second” – Rio Ferdinand mocks Arsenal, says Man United will end happier

According to Rio Ferdinand, a former defender for Manchester United, the Red Devils will undoubtedly have a better season’s end than Arsenal.

Ferdinand felt that winning a trophy at the conclusion of the season was preferable and more significant than coming in second place in the league.

In Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge of Manchester United, the Red Devils lifted the Carabao Cup.

With eight games left in the Premier League, they are now third.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has been battling Manchester City for the Premier League championship despite having exited all cup competitions.

The Gunners, who earlier led the league in points by eight, are now five points ahead of Man City, who still have two games remaining.

Wednesday’s encounter between Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium may prove pivotal.

He told BT Sport, “I said, Man United, they would have had a better season if they finished third and won the Carabao Cup than if Arsenal finish second now without a trophy.

“Who was the happiest was my point!

They won’t say that about being in second place when you retire and people say, “Oh what a season that was.

“I don’t recall the years in which I came in second. Whether it was the Carabao Cup, the Champions League, or the Premier League, I recall the years when I had success.
