Keown, Parker blame £150,000 per week Chelsea star for Arsenal’s 1-0 win

Forward Kai Havertz, according to former Premier League stars Martin Keown and Scott Parker, is to blame for Sunday’s victory by Arsenal over Chelsea.

Gabriel scored the game’s lone goal from close range at Stamford Bridge in the second half after Chelsea failed to stop Bukayo Saka’s corner.

When the corner was delivered, Havertz was manning the near-post, but the German was unable to clear the ball before it also sailed past Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy and was greeted by Gabriel.

Parker said of Arsenal’s victory: “You’re always quite sad when you give up from a set-piece.

“I don’t understand why Havertz advanced so far before the corner. Instead, he starts high and then starts sprinting back, which leaves him with a lot to cope with. If he goes deeper, he can come on to it.

Keown continued, “Kai Havertz has to perform better there. At that, he swings a slack leg.
